Laura Steiner

Hi! My name is Laura and I am a Licensed Social Worker with over 7 years of experience providing counseling services. Prior to obtaining my social work degree, I was a special education teacher for five years. I obtained my Master’s degree in social work from the University of Illinois. 

I have had over 12 years of experience working in the school setting with children preschool-8th grade. My specialities include working with individuals and/or groups with ADHD, behavioral concerns, grief, trauma, executive functioning, autism, and social skills. In addition, I have worked to provide counseling to children who have suffered loss, have experienced divorce, or who have gone through significant life events. 

My goal as a therapist is to work alongside those walking through stressors in life by utilizing a strengths-based approach and evidence-based practice. I see therapy as a partnership, working together to attain and achieve goals and solutions. I also strive to empower my clients and help them reach their full potential.

In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my husband and three daughters. We enjoy weekend road trips as well as being at home. I enjoy reading, taking walks, and spending time with my family and friends.
