Sarah Vanstedum
Licensed Social Worker
Hello! I’m Sarah, a Licensed Social Worker who earned my Master’s degree from Aurora University. I believe therapy should be a place where you feel safe, heard, and accepted. My goal is to create a welcoming, nonjudgmental environment where we can work together to navigate life’s challenges and celebrate your strengths.
I have experience supporting individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities and enjoy working with adolescents and adults experiencing anxiety, depression, stress, life transitions, and self-esteem concerns. My approach is collaborative, client-centered, and tailored to your unique needs. While I often incorporate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) into treatment, I believe there is no one-size-fits-all approach to healing. Together, we’ll identify your goals and build on your strengths to help you create meaningful, lasting change.
I understand that reaching out for therapy can feel overwhelming. Whether you’re facing a difficult season, adjusting to a life transition, or simply looking to better understand yourself, I’m committed to meeting you where you are with compassion, curiosity, and encouragement. My hope is that you’ll feel supported every step of the way as we work toward a life that feels more balanced, connected, and authentic.
When I’m not in the office, you’ll likely find me reading, playing board or video games, tackling a new arts and crafts project, or spending time with my family. I’m also a big sports fan—Bear Down! and Go White Sox! I also enjoy staying active by playing volleyball.
I look forward to supporting you on your journey toward healing and growth.
